An exciting opportunity for you to join our Mackay Regional Council Libraries team based at the Gordon White Library.
The successful candidate will work with the Librarian Young People’s Services (YPS – children aged 0 – 12 years and their families) to ensure planning, delivery and promotion of a comprehensive range of specialist library services to meet the information, recreational and educational needs of young people in the wider Mackay community.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current QLD ‘C’ class driver licence
- Current QLD Working with Children Blue Card
- General knowledge of, and interest in, children’s literature and current trends in library services for young people.
- Previous experience working in a customer service or library environment, or experience planning and facilitating face to face programs and events for children aged 0 – 12 years and their families.
- Sound computer literacy including use of MS Office applications and general office equipment.
Candidates who hold Certificate II in Library and Information Studies or higher and also hold current First Aid and CPR Qualifications will be highly regarded.
