Bundaberg Regional Council Libraries are pleased to host the QPLA 2022 Conference at the Bundaberg Multiplex from 12-14 October 2022. The conference theme of Evoke: Empower, Inspire, Connect focuses on the key topics of diversity, inclusion, and resilience. Our aim is to evoke the strength and power of our Queensland public libraries with speakers and experiences that empower, inspire, and connect.
The Bundaberg Multiplex Sport and Convention Centre is a purpose-built, centrally located venue with multiple and flexible spaces for conferences, exhibitions, and other events. It is located 10 minutes from the airport and 5-10 minutes from the train station, Bundaberg Library, and a selection of accommodation in and around the CBD.
The historic sugar cane city of Bundaberg is located just a 4.5-hour drive north of Brisbane and is perfectly positioned next to some of Australia’s most extraordinary islands. To the south, you’ll find the world’s largest sand island, K’gari (Fraser Island), and just a short boat ride away sits the Southern Great Barrier Reef where phenomenal marine life encircles the waters surrounding Lady Elliot and Lady Musgrave islands. On the mainland, watch baby turtles hatch at Mon Repos, have some fun with rum at the Bundaberg Distillery, and explore 140 kilometres (87 miles) of glistening white beaches.
The Bundaberg region is known for its beautiful beaches from Bargara to Woodgate and in between; the charming hinterland towns of Childers and Gin Gin; the turtles at Mon Repos; close access to the Southern Great Barrier Reef; and of course, its famous food and beverage produce. Beverages including Bundaberg Rum, Kalki Moon gin, and Bundaberg Brewed Drinks are beloved local flavours. Our fresh and delicious produce including macadamias, strawberries, and a host of other fruits and vegetables, makes our region a dynamic food bowl.
The Bundaberg region is very much a destination where you can “Come for the conference, stay for the vacation”.
Discounted accommodation rates are available when you mention QPLA Conference 2022.
