Mackay Regional Council Libraries are delighted to host the QPLA 2019 Conference at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre (MECC) from 11-13 September 2019. The MECC is the largest convention and banqueting facility between Cairns and Brisbane, a state of the art facility comprising multiple versatile spaces for hosting a variety of events.
The vibrant tropical city of Mackay is located on the East coast of Queensland 970km north of Brisbane on the Pioneer River. Mackay is surrounded by reefs rich in marine life and rainforest including Eungella National Park, a habitat for rare frogs and platypus. The Mackay region can offer natural experiences, fun-filled adventures or pure relaxation with a backdrop of gorgeous scenery and amazing sunsets.
