Day one
Behavioural economist, psychologist, award-winning musician, author and co-founder of Decida, Phil has a driving belief that we can solve most of the social, environmental , economic and political problem around the globe if we all become slightly better decision makers.
Phil makes neuroscience simple, interesting and fun, highlighting irrational ‘blind-spots’, increasing awareness of cognitive biases that influence perception and behaviour, and inspiring people to become less reactive, and more responsive. His humour, casual approach and unique background has made him a sought-after speaker, helping people to master their own choices and design their own destiny.
Day two
Complexity scientist Patrick Hollingworth will facilitate a two-day event to help the library industry come to grips with the uncertainty and disorder of the current global environment. Patrick will challenge us to make sense of this new world and to harness the emerging opportunities being presented. Using bodies of knowledge from the natural and social sciences, Patrick will help participants develop an understanding of how complex systems function, and then share an approach for complexity absorption and leadership.
Shane Rowlands, Team Leader – Art Activation at Moreton Bay Regional Council will also be a feature presenter at this exciting event. Shane will focus on the importance of advocacy and the ability to tell compelling stories for the survival and growth of our sector.
