Noosa Libraries
Noosa Libraries win hearts in the annual Connecting Noosa Christmas Convoy!
Noosa Libraries new mobile library participated in the annual Christmas Convoy this year! Now in its fourth year, the festive convoy in collaboration with local Emergency Services and partners, aims to celebrate what we love about our shire and promote the festive spirit in our community. Residents are encouraged to stand in their driveways and celebrate with neighbours as the convoy passes through the identified streets. It was such a delight to be part of this initiative and see the special waves and love from the community when they saw it was their library service bringing them some Christmas cheer.
Sunshine Coast Libraries
Wild HeART Walk
Sunshine Coast Libraries’ very first Art walk has been installed at Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens and looks amazing! Instead of our usual Story Walk we partnered with the Gardens and Environmental Education and Visitor Centres team to display the 21 finalists artwork from the annual Wild heART Student Art Prize.
Now we have a fantastic walk created by kids that introduces little kids to not only early literacy but to art and the environment. Find out more on the Sunshine Coast Libraries website.
Wild heART Walk has been funded by First 5 Forever an initiative of the Queensland State Government, coordinated by State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with local government.
Library+ Caloundra
Caloundra’s new Library+ will be a real page turner for the residents in the south and the wider Sunshine Coast community. The former Caloundra administration building is being transformed into a state-of-the-art new district library and community space, known as Library+ Caloundra. The current Caloundra library is one of the oldest and is the busiest library in the Sunshine Coast library network. Caloundra’s new Library+ will meet the demand for a contemporary experience that includes expanded program and service access, extended operating hours, and access to community meeting spaces. A first look at the new facility was released in November as a ‘fly through video’ – check it out on the Sunshine Coast Libraries website.
