The Innovation in Heritage Services Awards were proudly announced at the QPLA LEaD Professional Development Welcome Reception on Tuesday 14 October 2025 at State Library of Queensland. Sponsored by Accessible Formats Australia, this award celebrates the outstanding heritage programs and services delivered by public libraries, IKCs, and RLQs across Queensland.
The award was established to:
- Recognise the diversity of heritage services provided by public libraries
- Encourage innovation in the delivery of heritage programs
- Acknowledge, celebrate, and share the richness of community heritage across Queensland
- Reward library services for their commitment to preserving and promoting local history
This year’s recipients demonstrated exceptional leadership and creativity in heritage programming, showcasing how libraries can connect communities with their past while shaping future understanding.
The award was presented by Shane Clancy with heartfelt congratulations extended to the winning teams for their remarkable contribution to Queensland’s cultural landscape.
QPLA continues to champion excellence in heritage services and looks forward to seeing more inspiring projects in future years.
