My Big Idea is a citizen-led ideas competition driven by the not-for-profit Australian Futures Project, which will officially launch on 5 June.
My Big Idea is a nationwide ideas competition that is focused on creating positive change for Australia. Running from 5 June to 3 August, My Big Idea invites all Australians to submit ideas on ways to improve aspects of their communities; from how to boost economic growth, care for the disadvantaged, and look after future generations.
The public can submit ideas via the My Big Idea website (going live on 5 June), and vote for those ideas they are passionate about. The top 100 most voted on ideas will go before a judging panel, with 10 winning ideas being developed and brought to life, thanks to the support of some of Australia’s leading universities, companies and non-profits.
All members of ALIA are invited to get involved in ways that are possible within your own times and circumstances:
- Including My Big Idea in your newsletters and/or providing social media support
- Putting up posters at your library of My Big Idea
- Running a brainstorming event for staff and/or members of your library
Your involvement in this project is highly encouraged and appreciated. More information and resources for these activities will be available following the launch of My Big Idea on 5 June.
