The Multicultural Excellence Awards will be presented at the QPLA LEaD Conference Gala Dinner to be held on Thursday 15 October 2026 at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, Brisbane.
The annual awards recognise outstanding public library services that demonstrate excellence in serving culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, including Indigenous peoples, and celebrate Australia’s rich cultural diversity.
The 2026-27 award is generously sponsored by CAVAL.
The award aims to:
- Recognise the importance of multicultural library services
- Raise their profile within communities
- Encourage innovation and excellence
- Celebrate achievements across Queensland’s public libraries
Multicultural library services encompass a range of services provided to culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, including Indigenous peoples, and acknowledge and celebrate Australia’s rich cultural diversity.
All award applicants must be a member of QPLA to be eligible for consideration.
