Congratulations to Andrea and the team at Mareeba Shire Council on their initiative which saw an influx of young boys in the library.
Mareeba Shire Library held a Fresh Start Academy featuring free haircuts as part of their Youth Week school holiday program last week, generously funded by funded by SDS budget and Community Partnership Program. The program was a huge success.
The library team transformed the adult nonfiction area into a funky teenage boy’s barber shop with music. The boys did 65 haircuts; it was an exciting day with so many young boys never been in the library before had a haircut and then hung out in the library all day!!
